Restore your interior Part 1
A muscle car isn’t completely restored until you have finished the interior. A high quality interior restoration can make a huge difference in the overall reception a car will receive.

One thing we can’t under emphasize is the importance of a plan. Many times we get too excited and began to dismantle things before we have truly evaluated the situation. While there are thousands of pieces available to restore your interior, there are times when you will need to restore part of your interior because the aftermarket does not make the part. Make a list of each piece in your interior and then categorize them into "keep", "replace" and "restore" piles. If you plan on making a change to your interior colour, now is the time to decide. Do some research and figure out what the availability is of the colour you want. Generally, it is easy to go from a coloured interior to black but not necessarily the other way.
Your next step should be to price out your replace pile. It is easy to go through an online store and add up all of the items you want. This will give you an idea of what your budget is going to be. Depending on the available funds, you may move some items from your replace pile into the restore pile. If you're not sure about what something is called, give us a call or send us an email and we can help you to figure out the part.
Once you know what you need it is time to begin. Order your parts as soon as you can as delivery on interior parts can sometimes take longer. Most manufacturers are now in an "on demand" system which means that they don’t make the parts until they get the order. While you are waiting for your parts to arrive you can begin disassembly and cataloguing of the old parts. Remember, even if the part is labelled as a replace, don’t throw it away as you may want to reference back to the part during re-installation. Take a ton of pictures of each part, before, during and after dissasembly. As many times as we've done things, you sometimes need to refer back to how things were.
Next time, we will look at way to restore your interior parts.
