Time to put the Stock back in Stock Car Racing

It appears that the good old boy's sport of turning left is losing market share. It used to be that stock car racing meant that you could buy the car that they raced on Sunday at your local dealership and that thousands of people would flock to see it. Today, we're stuck with a bunch of go-karts with stickers. Even, the occasional driver drama has been "legislated" out of the sport with all of the personalities kept under wraps and Nascar popularity is dropping rapidly.
The obvious solution is to put the stock back into the stock car. We've got a new crop of muscle that could step in and make for some real competition. It is tough to know if anyone in the Nascar crew has the cajones to make this happen but I fear that in it's current incarnation, stock car racing will not last very long.
The crazy hot weather seems to have finally broken which means there is still lots of time to get in the garage and turn some wrenches. There is nothing less appealing than battling crazy hot weather (okay maybe minus 20 weather) in the garage. Let's hope this great weather lasts well into the Fall!
Random Musings on a rainy day...

Watching the rain come down today reminded me of all of the things I should be doing instead of being on the computer surfing the internet for muscle cars. One of them could be getting to work on the two project cars I have in partial states of completion on the property. The other was writing this weekly update so I opted for more couch time. You know what they say about the shoemaker's kid always having the old shoes well, the same goes here.
Last fall we sold the Yenko tribute and I'm jonesing for something else. The Yenko's replacement (a green John Deere tractor) is taking up the only extra garage space available. While the tractor has certainly made things easier here around the Ultimate Performance Car complex, it can't go to cruise nights or lay down rubber for fun. Looks like it's going to have to wait a bit since we're also planning a bit of an expansion here at Ultimate Performance Car and the plans are underway for a new larger facility for our automotive business and an expansion for our recording studio and media business facilities as well.
Good to see lots of muscle out on the streets. Out and about yesterday in the Ottawa area and I couldn't turn the corner with out seeing a muscle car. My favourite was this monochromatic yellow 69 Buick Skylark. Had a great tone, not obscene, just right.
